Use Joyride, Nike Claims Its Shoes Are Much More Comfortable

Nike's shoe, clothing, and sports equipment company claims to have discovered a new technology that allows shoes to be much more comfortable by filling them with small beads. 

Named the Joyride system, this technology is reported to be more comfortable than other competitors, because it uses new techniques that allow the bottom of the shoe to be packed with thousands of small beads.

Quoting from The Independent, beads are placed in four large bags at the bottom of the foot or shoe soles. The use of beads acts as a shock absorber and when used, the beads will adjust to the shape of the user's feet. This method can produce pads that are as if made specifically for the user.

To make these new shoes, Nike engineered a special pod under the feet. When the foot touches the ground, the air between the beads will come out through the sol so that the user will avoid collisions. 

Nike said that Joyride has a shock absorption of 14 percent better than other shoe soles. The pods have different amounts on each shoe, depending on how much cushion the foot needs when hit.

The beads are made of thermoplastic (TPE), in the form of plastic and rubber granules. Nike claims to have tried 150 ingredients before dropping the choice on the beads. 

This bearing system will only be available for the Nike Joyride Run Flyknit series. But unfortunately, not everyone can have these special shoes. Because the series can only be obtained for those who are members of Nike on July 25 and Nike Joyride Run Flyknit will be released globally on August 15. { Source }
