    BTS Breaks Celine Dion's Sales Record for 24 Years

    BTS again broke historic sales records. On July 3, the Korean vocal group released their 10th Japanese single titled Lights. After the introduction, Lights went worldwide and has been heard streaming millions of times.

    Even the song's music video reportedly recovered more than 15 million views in just two days. The song has also gained more than 467,000 points on the Japanese Oricon Chart for the Daily Singles, surpassing the previous song, "Fake Love" or "Airplane Pt. 2" by 140,000 points.

    Reported by Koreaboo, the sale of the Lights preorder song is more impressive. Lights have sold 1 million preorders and managed to break Celine Dion's record in 1995 in Japan. With the song To Love You More, Celine Dion won the record for 24 years and is now replaced by BTS.

    The number 24 seems to be a lucky number for BTS. Last month, they broke the 24-year sales record held by Kim Gun-mo. Nevertheless, this achievement was not the first award won by RM and friends.

    Previously, the new BTS album, Map of the Soul: Persona, was named by Guinness World Records as the Best-Selling Album in Korean History. Reporting from Soompi, on June 25 local time, Guinness World Records officially announced the latest BTS album Map of the Soul: Persona as the best-selling album in South Korea.

    Released on April 12, 2019, Map of the Soul: Personal sold 3,399,302 copies domestically in May and managed to break the previous record held by the Wrumpful Gun 1995 album, Kim Gun Mo 1995, which sold only 3.3 million copies. { Source }
