Finance Minister Sri Mulyani requested that the trade balance surplus be maintained to support the achievement of economic growth targets.

The position of the June trade balance surplus is lower than the achievement of the May 2019 trade surplus which amounted to USD 210 million. Nevertheless, the surplus position that occurs in two consecutive months is deemed necessary to be maintained.

Minister of Finance (Minister of Finance) Sri Mulyani also requested that exports continue to be boosted. "We will see the whole year, yes, every year we see that there are influential things from seasonal, there are also those that are trending. The most important thing is the president still asks every minister to be serious in dealing with the trade balance problem," said Sri Mulyani Jakarta, Monday (7/15/2019)

Sri Mulyani said, exports must continue to be boosted and all policies in the ministries/institutions were mobilized to achieve these goals. According to him, this is important so that exports can encourage economic growth as targeted.

"For us at the Ministry of Finance, we are talking about taxation, taxes, customs and other regulatory regulations that might affect export performance. We will continue to work with other agencies in supporting exports and creating stronger domestic industries," he said.
