    Joining Brooklyn Nets Kevin Durant no longer wears a historic number 35 used during the first 12 seasons of his NBA.

    Durant announced on social media on Sunday that he would move to number 7 after previously wearing a historic number 35 used during the first 12 seasons of his NBA career.

    Durant praised his old number because he was chosen to respect someone close to him, gain new experiences and form important bonds with the people around him. But he said the changes signaled the next chapter in his basketball career.

    "35 brought my family and I from Seat Pleasant, MD and showed us to the world," Durant wrote.

    "35 allows me to meet people whom I will never have the opportunity to meet, experience things that I will never have the opportunity to experience, and achieve things that I will never be able to achieve."

    "35 allowed me to go to the University of Texas to play basketball, 35 paved the way to achieve my dream of playing in the NBA in Seattle. 35 allowed me to play basketball in Oklahoma City and form bonds and friendships that will last a lifetime. Finally, 35 allow me to go to the Bay Area and win two championships. "

    The 30-year-old basketball player won the NBA title in a row with the Golden State Warriors in 2016-17 and 2017-18 and averaged 26.0 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists per match last season.

    The Nets posted a 42-40 record in 2018-19 and were eliminated from the postseason by the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round, but their newly discovered star power could push a surge to the peak in the near future. { Source }
