    Know the Benefits of Breast Milk for the Baby and the Mother

    ASI (Mother's Milk) is the main source of nutrition for the growth of the baby in the golden period. Exclusive breastfeeding is given from the newborn to the age of 6 months, without food and other accompanying drinks. After 6 months, breastfeeding is combined with complementary foods (MPASI) for children aged 2 years.

    Quoted from the book Friends of ASI Andolan, ASI has many benefits for your child, namely as ideal nutrition, increasing endurance, developing intelligence and forming personality. Interestingly, breast milk does not only provide benefits for the baby but also for the mother.

    ASI also provides benefits for the mother. Among them is reducing bleeding or postpartum, reducing the risk of cancer, to providing satisfaction.

    Among them is reducing bleeding or postpartum, reducing the possibility of cancer, to giving satisfaction to the mother. Meanwhile, the baby's milk needs must be met because the balanced nutrition in breast milk is very specific so it cannot be balanced by formula milk.

    A baby who gets exclusive breastfeeding has a stronger immune system so it is not easy to get sick. On the other hand, holding your baby during breastfeeding makes her feel love and security. These feelings form the basis of the emotional development of the baby and form their good personalities.

    Meanwhile, breast milk produced by mothers has different content. Such as colostrum which contains protein, ADEK vitamins, minerals and immunoglobulin with thick texture and yellowish color. Transitional breast milk, high in fat, lactose, vitamins and more calories.

    In addition, mature milk is more dilute containing 90% water and 10% nutrients. Mature ASI itself has two types namely foremilk ASI which comes out early in the breastfeeding session, is thinner because it contains water, vitamins, and protein. Meanwhile, hindmilk ASI comes out at the end of the breastfeeding session. This type of breast milk contains higher fat content so it is thicker. { Source }
